FORMS & VARIOUS ITEMS OF INTEREST IN BOOK

HIGH SCHOOL EMAIL LIST:  called the SHF-L (Senior High Form+U+la List) - It's FREE, and is for parents interested in homeschooling through high school in the manner I suggest in Senior High: A Home-Designed Form+U+la.  This is not really a particular "manner" ~  just doing it with all the freedom God intended you to have!

HELPFUL ARTICLES: This link will take you right to the "High School Homeschooling" section of my Article Chart here at this website where you'll find several articles on a variety of helpful topics for Homeschooling through High School, including several excerpts from Form+U+la, the issue of "accreditation," a letter from Sharnessa to a teen who did not want to homeschool, the question of "Is Mid-High School Too Late to Start Homeschooling?", insights on "college" from Helen Keller (pretty amazing!), and our homeschool graduations!

TORY'S BASKETBALL NOTEBOOK:  One of Tory's big projects that spanned his high school years, both in content and in the collecting and forming of it, was his "Basketball Notebook."  Here is the explanation of the "heart 'n' soul" of it as well as a list of the table of contents.  (Someday soon I will have a few pictures as I finally got a scanner and am figuring out how to USE it!)

HIGH SCHOOL NOTEBOOK COVER:  This is a photo explanation of Carlianne's High School Notebook Cover.  We believe that a picture truly IS worth a thousand words!  If this is true, the front cover ALONE of her notebook is worth 8,000 words!!!  This includes many helpful tips for making one of these yourself!

OUR HOMESCHOOL GRADUATIONS: These are of our two oldest children, Sharnessa and Tory.  The two graduations were completely different, so be sure to read both stories!  There are pictures too!  (These pages are linked from the graduation caps below, not from the pencil this time.)

Tory's Graduation (in 1998)

Sharnessa's Graduation (in 1996)

LAB SCIENCE HELPS & RESOURCES:  Here you'll find lots of help for finding something that will be a "right fit" for this intimidating subject of Lab Science:  links, books, and insight to help you make the right decision ~ not for someone else, but for you and your student.  Lab Science is not an excuse to not homeschool through high school!  In fact, it can be some of the most fun you'll have!

V*ENNA PAGE: Our daughter, Sharnessa was in a Christian pop band called "V*Enna," very popular among teens and younger.  This page here at my website gives you a bit of an intro to it.  The group has now broken up, (sad, but it was a "God thing"), but there are still many great devotionals written by Sharnessa and Lucy at their website!  Click here, and then click on "Devotionals."  To find out what's up with the break-up of the group and what they're doing now, click here!

BOOKS & RESOURCES: For a variety of resources including helps for the parent and wonderful resources for the student to use for homeschooling through high school, for both parents and students, please see the "Senior / Junior High School" section of our catalog here at our website!  We used many of these ourselves.

FORMS FROM FORM+U+LA  (Several Samples)

(AND ONE OF MY OTHER BOOKS ~ ON WASH. ST. HISTORY & GOVERNMENT)

Assignment Check-off Sheet for Typing Class - My requirements for our "Typing" class. (from Form+U+la)

Skills Check-off Sheet - A "Task Analysis Sheet" in Form+U+la. For a "Home Maintenance & Repair" unit of Home Ec.

Learning Guide: "Identifying Prepositional Phrases" - This is in/from Form+U+la and gives you a good example of how I glean some learning ~ in this case in English Grammar ~ from what I have on hand; in this case, the Bible!  If you use this page with your student, you'll want to print it out and cut off the answers OR cut and paste just the top portion for the student to use.

Book Synopsis Form - This form (from Form+U+la)  is what I created to be used in conjunction with the Compact Classics (also called the Great American Bathroom Books) for a Literature class. These books are an excellent intro to hundreds of great literary works!  (See Resources for Sr./Jr. High, 1/4 of the way down the page.)

City Council Meeting Report Form - This form is from the "Government" section of  my Washington State History & Government: The Search-it-out Route, it's not in Sr. High Form+U+la. This form can be used to take notes at a City Council meeting. (This book is the very last item on the  Resources for Sr./Jr. High page.)

 NEW BONUS FORMS!

(None of these forms are found in Form+U+la as they were all made AFTER I wrote the latest edition.)

U.S. Map Check-off Sheet - an aid to  learning the locations of the 50 states.  Includes links to an online map with all states and names, and a blank border-only map you can print out to use for your tests! Geographical Areas of the U.S. - The 50 states color-coded according to area:  Pacific, Atlantic, Midwest, South, Southwest, and Mountain states. Includes all state abbreviations. (Also linked from the U.S. Map Check-off Sheet.)
"Purity of Heart" Interview Form - Together, Carlianne and I made up a form which is a questionnaire that's designed to help facilitate a good, in-depth conversation between a younger girl and an older girl! It would be best done by tape recording the conversation (with permission, of course!) so that the flow of the conversation isn't slowed down or inhibited by the interviewer having to take the time to write down the interviewee's responses.
Carlianne's Weekly Plan - Here's a sample of our daughter's weekly plan. Not for anyone to imitate or compare themselves to!  Just what we do, for your information. Month of Dinners Chart - I thought it would be a good idea for our daughter to have the skills to make everything necessary for a "month of dinners" under her belt.
Carlianne's Weekly Plan for Spring Break - I wanted to share this variation of "Carlianne's Weekly Plan" (above) only to give you an idea of what I do and don't require of her when we're "off."  As I've said a hundred times in Form+U+la, THIS IS NOT HOW YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO IT.  It's just how WE do it.

"THIS IS ME" SHEETS

VARIOUS ITEMS OF INTEREST IN THE BOOK:

Table of Contents - of Form+U+la

Form Index - of the 160 forms in Form+U+la!

Comments and Reviews by Readers - The first four items on this page are about Form+U+la.

New Vs. Old Form+U+la

For those who have an older edition and wonder if they need the new.

When Should I Read Form+U+la??? - Twenty homeschool moms share their thoughts on when it's best to read this book.  Hint:  It isn't two weeks before you start your oldest in high school!  You certainly can read it then, or anytime after starting, and many do and still get MUCH out of it.  But if you want to save yourself a lot of time, heartache, money, and panic, hear the hearts of these moms!!!  (I hate to be pushy, but you really need to read this article!  If not just the whole book!)

Article Excerpts from Form+U+la - All the articles in the "High School Homeschooling" section of the Article Chart are taken from Senior High: A Home-Designed Form+U+la except "Burned-out, Bad-Attituded Teens"; everything else will present a good basic idea of the heart 'n' soul of what's in the book.

A Personal Guided Tour Through the Highlights of Form+U+la - I put this together especially for those with younger children (or non-homeschoolers) to introduce them to the many concepts and helps in this book that will be of tremendous help to them now - long before their children ever get to high school age.
