IDENTIFYING
PREPOSITIONAL PHRASES
(In the Bible)
Here is a section out of Psalms 24:3–6. You could type this up, or it could be handwritten by a younger or older student, or typed up by your teen for typing practice. The way this came about was that as I was reading these verses one day, it became obvious to me that there was one prepositional phrase after another! So I thought, "Hmmm, this would make a good quick lesson on this topic!" Directions are coming right up, and the "answer key" is below.
DIRECTIONS: Underline all prepositional phrases. Draw a line from the phrase to the word it modifies and indicate whether it is a "prepositional adverbial phrase" (modifies a verb) by writing just "Adv." over the phrase; or a "prepositional adjectival phrase" (modifies a noun) by writing "Adj." over it.

A Psalm of David
A Song to the King of glory
3 Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to falsehood,
and does not swear deceitfully.
5 He will receive blessing from the Lord,
and vindication from the God of his salvation.
6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah
