The Rainbow Song (Tune: "Ten Little Indians")
Red and orange, green and
blue,
Are_here with us today! This song can be sung by arranging several items in a row, side-by-side, that are the corresponding colors, and touch each color as it is sung. Or the same idea may be used in a group, lining up children wearing or holding these colors. Start with all of them crouched down in a row, and as their color is sung, they pop up! They may need a little prompting, so you or another child might stand behind them and touch them (gently) on the head right before their color is sung so that they will pop up at the right moment.
Notice that the heart colors are the same as in the song?!? That's because Susan Colton, alias graphic artist "Grandma George," custom-made this graphic just for this song! Thank you, again, Susan!!! |
